Welcome to Marcus Ward's Portfolio
Who am I?
I am a trained audio engineer, sound designer and musician. I began playing piano at an early age and at twelve I began playing the trumpet.
I continued studying classical trumpet performance through my undergraduate college years. I went to Millikin University on a classical performance scholarship. While at Millikin I was introduced to the world of recording engineering. The following semester I changed my major from music performance to commercial music. For partial fulfillment of this degree I was employed as an intern at OmniSound Studios gaining knowledge but more importantly a view into the to inner workings of the music industry.
Upon graduating I was employed as a trumpet instructor, music teacher and an extended stint in music retail. Through this time I continued to hone my engineering skills through recording my own music and recording demo's for local bands in Indianapolis and the suburbs of Chicago. Also during this time I worked as a freelance sound designer writing music and recording sound effects for informational videos and radio spots.
In 2008 I returned to school to work on gain my Master of Science in Music Technology from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. While increasing my knowledge of recording engineering and sound design I also gained skills in multimedia development.
